* IMPORTANT *

1. Do NOT change the names of the sprites named "guestbook" and "gb" - or else the guestbook will not work.

2. Your web host ABOSULTELY MUST have PHP support

3. You ABSOLUTELY MUST upload the PHP and TXT files, and the guestbook SWF file to the same directory as your main movie

4. You ABSOLUTELY MUST CHMOD the included TXT file to 777 after uploading it to your web server (in ASCII mode) ... for more information refer to the following links for your specific FTP client :

5. Everything is already perfectly lined up in the provided template file -- if you move things around, the input fields and guestbook will no longer line up. You should only change the colors and outline for the background items, and the font for the text items.

6. This guestbook is ONLY meant to work within a sprite in the main movie (Level 0) -- it cannot be loaded into an additional sprite, or a level higher than zero -- the sprite "guestbook" must sit on the main timeline of the base movie -- or else it will not work.

* Customizing the SWI file *

1. Open the SWI file

2. Select the Sprite "guestbook" .... Copy it ... then Paste it into your own movie

3. Click on the (+) next to the "guestbook" sprite -- then you can enter the other "customizable" sprites and edit the colors and text.

4. The customizable backgrounds are already lined up and sized perfectly -- it is highly recommended that you DO NOT reposition those objects - or else the guestbook and input fields will no longer line up correctly.

5. You can add animations to the customizable areas - just as long as they end up in their original starting positions.

6. You can control when the guestbook is displayed by adding PLACE and REMOVE effects for the sprite "gb" within the guestbook sprite ... You can add actions to the "guestbook" sprite to handle this control.

7. You can change the text color of the guestbook by changing the settings for the PLACE effect on the sprite "gb" ... Double-Click on the PLACE effect and change the color in the settings - this will change the color of the guestbook itself (will only effect the entired in the guestbook, the scroll arrows, and the page numbers)

* NOTES *

The customizable areas are clearly labeled - each object is labeled with the same name as the area in the guestbook that it corresponds with (eg. email_background is where the user types in their email address; guestbook_background is the area where the entries are displayed; etc.).
