* IMPORTANT *

1. Do NOT change the names of either sprites in the SWI file "st_counter" and "counter"

2. You web host ABOSULTELY MUST have PHP support

3. You ABSOLUTELY MUST upload the PHP and TXT files, and the Counter SWF file to the same directory as your main movie

4. You ABSOLUTELY MUST CHMOD the included TXT file to 777 after uploading it to your web server (in ASCII mode) ... for more information refer to the following links for your specific FTP client :

* Customizing the SWI file *

1. Open the SWI file

2. Select the Sprite "st_counter" .... Copy it ... then Paste it into your own movie

3. Click on the (+) next to the sprite "st_counter"

4. Click on the (+) next to the sprite "counter"

5. At Frame 1 (inside the "counter" sprite) is a Load Movie action ... Change the URL of this action to the location and filename of the counter you wish to use ... for example, if you wish to use Hit Counter #2 (st_counter2.swf) - change the URL to : st_counter2.swf ... then make sure you upload that file to the same directory as your main movie

6. Go back to the timeline for the "st_counter" sprite

7. You can change the text color of the hit counter by changing the settings for the PLACE effect at frame 1 ... Double-Click on the PLACE effect and change the color in the settings - this will change the color of the hit counter itself (will only effect the stat numbers)

8. Add any background, text, or additional sprites to the "st_counter" sprite that you desire.

9. READ THE *IMPORTANT* STEPS AT THE TOP OF THIS DOCUMENT :-)

* NOTES *

The actually text (numbers) for the counter will be aligned to the center of the rectangle inside the "counter" sprite .... This information is provided so that you can create an appropriate background for the hit counter.
